About Amanda

Amanda says:  “It is one thing to recite a Bible verse when life is plain sailing, but a whole different kettle of fish, when your sanity and survival hinge on your ability to live it 24/7”.

Philippians 4:13:   “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”, got a whole different meaning when, three and a half years later, Amanda was diagnosed with the debilitating and incurable neurological disease, Multiple Sclerosis (MS).

From living the “high-life” in South Africa and running her own widely successful Financial Planning practice with husband, Charl Grobbelaar, in January 2008 Amanda moved across the globe with her husband and two teenage children to start a new life Down Under.

Amanda has an authentic and relatable personal story.  She will share snippets of her life journey with brutal honesty.  Amanda says:  “Life is not for the faint at heart.  For some it is a journey, for others it is an  obstacle course”.
Amanda’s powerful and moving presentations will inspire you to discover your passion, to find the positive in everyday life and to ultimately, live a happier and healthier life, no matter your circumstances.

With her unwavering positive attitude towards her own personal battles, Amanda will inspire you to live your best life now.

Amanda will often say:  “There is no use crying over what you think you have lost.  Do the best you can with what you have, today.”
When Amanda was originally diagnosed with MS, she was discouraged by the lack of positive stories relating to the disease.

Amanda uses her real life experiences, engrained with humor, love, honestly and her unwavering positive attitude to motivate, inspire and genuinely move audiences.

Referring to the chronic, progressive, incurable nature of MS, Amanda would say: “It is no use standing on the pavement, waiting for the bus to hit; I have a life to live!”
Amanda has become the positive MS story she was originally searching for.
